Sri Lanka have made three changes to their final 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup 2021. Lahiru Kumara, Binura Fernando and Akila Dananjaya have been named in Sri Lanka's final 15-man squad who were initially named in Sri Lanka's reserves, were to travel with the squad as injury cover.

However, on Sunday (October 10), Sri Lanka Cricket announced their final squad, leaving out Kamindu Mendis, Nuwan Pradeep, Praveen Jayawickrama, Minod Bhanuka, Ashen Bandara, Lakshan Sandakan and Ramesh Mendis from the 19-man squad they had named earlier. Among the four reserve players named initially, Pulina Tharanga misses out with no reserves named this time around.

The major omissions from the squad are Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka, who were banned for a year for breaking the Covid-19 protocols on their tour of England in July.

Sri Lanka will begin their campaign on October 18 versus Namibia in Abu Dhabi. They belong to Group A, alongside Ireland and the Netherlands.
