SC denies bail to Destiny MD Rafiqul

The Appellate Division of Supreme Court today dismissed two separate petitions filed by Destiny Group Managing Director Md Rafiqul Amin, seeking bail in two money laundering cases involving Tk 4,200 crore.

An Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order on Sunday. Following the hearing on September 24, the date for the bail petition was fixed today.

Advocate Sayeed Ahmed Raja appeared for Rafiqul Amin before the court while Lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan stood for ACC during the court proceedings.

On August 20, the High Court rejected the bail plea of ​​Rafiqul Amin of Destiny in two money laundering cases. At the same time, these two cases were asked to be disposed of in the Judicial Court within six months.

Rafiqul Amin filed two petitions to the Appellate Division against the High Court's dismissal order. 

On July 31, 2012, two cases were filed with the Kalabagan police station in the capital on charges of money laundering.
