The Appellate Division on Sunday scrapped the order that granted bail to Hallmark Group Chairman Jasmine Islam in a case over embezzling money through opening fake Letter of Credit (LC).
The SC bench of Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order and asked Jasmine to surrender to the court within four weeks.
Lawyer Mansurul Haque Chowdhury and Abdul Matin Khashru stood for Jasmine while lawyer advocate Khurshid Alam Khan represented the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Khurshid Alam Khan said the High Court granted bail to Jasmine Islam on March 10 in a case over embezzling Tk 85,87,33,616 from Janata Bank after opening a fake LC.
Later, the ACC filed a petition challenging the bail order.
