The scheduled for the elections of the Supreme Court (SC) Bar Association (2020-2021) tenure has been announced and fixed on March 11 and March 12. 

The election schedule was declared at a press conference held at Supreme Court on Wednesday.

At the press conference, Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, secretary of the Lawyers Association, said in a written speech that the submission of the nomination has been fixed from February 19 to March 1 and withdraw candidacy has been fixed on March 4. 

Candidate verification will be conducted on March 1. The election will be held in a total of 14 posts of the Executive Committee, he also said. 

AM Amin Uddin, president of the Supreme Court Bar Association and the other members were present in the press conference. 

A seven-member election sub-committee has been made led by senior lawyer AY Mashiuzzaman to hold the election. 

In the meantime, government-backed and BNP-backed lawyers have announced the names of their candidates.
