Russia has introduced one dose of coronavirus vaccine besides two doses. This is another version of the Sputnik-V vaccine, called Sputnik Lite.
Where two doses of COVID vaccine of Sputnik-V is 91.6 percent efficiency, there a “single dose of Sputnik ‘Light’ is 79.4 percent efficiency”, said vaccine financier The Russian Direct Development Fund (RDIF) in a statement.
The statement added that Sputnik Lite was approved based on tests conducted from December 5, 2020, to April 15 this year. This vaccine will be effective if more people are vaccinated in a short time. “It will be possible to build immunity quickly,” RDIF said.
Sputnik has been used in 59 countries around the world. It has been applied to about 1.5 billion people. Its effectiveness is 91.6 percent, experts said.
