The Russian Government approved a bill that allows foreign nationals to enter Russia without a visa, using a personalized spectator card, for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2018, Russian news agency Sputnik reported on Wednesday.
An official statement said, “It is proposed to establish the same period for visa-free entry for the spectators during the World Cup Tournament on Russia territory, using a personalized spectator card, both in paper and electronic forms. This season will begin 10 days before the date of the first match and end of the last match of the championship."
According to the statement, the bill also recommends to provide a free pass on railway transport for the accredited representatives of mass media on the basis of an identity document and accreditation card.
Following the Cabinet`s confirmation, the Bill will be submitted to the Russian Lower House.
During the the FIFA World Cup 2018, 32 national teams were drawn into eight groups of four. Matches will be held in Moscow, St Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, and Sochi.
The tournament will begin with the match between the national teams of Russia and Saudi Arabia which will take place on June 14 at Luzhniki stadium in Mosco.
