The 150 plus partnership between Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane guide India to a mammoth total in the second Test against England at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday.
India, who trail the four-Test series 1-0, are on 248 for 3 with Ajinkya Rahane on 66* and Rohit on 161* with the help of 18 fours and 2 sixes.
After winning the toss Indian Captain Virat Kohli decided to bat first in Chennai. But few early wickets seem the decision taken by the captain wrong as opener Shubman Gill went to the pavilion without scoring and Cheteshwar Pujara scored only 21 runs. Meanwhile, Kohli also scored a duck as he was bowled by Moeen Ali.
Rohit Sharma looks very comfortable with the bat from the very beginning of the innings and he made a brilliant 150 and still going superb with the bat. Earlier, he completed his hundred in the second session on the day. Ajinkya Rahane also accompanied him very beautifully by scoring a fifty.
For England, Olly Stone, Moeen Ali, and Jack Leach picked up a wicket for each.
