The relocation of displaced Rohingyas from Myanmar in Cox’s Bazar to Bhasan Char in Noakhali will start on December 3 and 4.
A five-member inspection and monitoring team has already formed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to inspect and monitor the management of the medical services of Rohingyas in Bhasan Char.
“The relocation of Myanmar nationals to Bhasan Char was scheduled to begin on Sunday. They also received letters. However, another letter has been issued later informing the relocation will start on December 3 and 4,” said team leader Dr. Fariduddin Mia, director (Hospital and Clinic) of DGHS.
He added that a 20-bed hospital and community clinic has been set up in Bhasan Char for Rohingyas in Cox’s Bazar. The Chattogram divisional director is mainly taking care of these.
Earlier on Thursday, a gazette notification signed by Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Hassan Imam, director (Administration) of DGHS, said the committee members would visit the hospitals and community clinics set up in Bhasan Char and will take necessary steps to ensure medical services to the patients.
He also said that he would monitor the normal process of relocation of displaced Myanmar nationals from Cox's Bazar to Bhasan Char in the Noakhali district.
