A Rohingya man has been held with 35,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from Teknaf`s Jadimura area in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday night.

The intelligence wing of Department of Narcotics Control detained Rashid Ullah, 35, a son of Bashir Ahmed hailing from Dongkhali of Mongdu in Myanmar, and seized the yaba from him.

The department’s Chittagong divisional intelligence wing’s Assistant Director Md Zillur Rahman said that being tipped-off, they arrested Rashid Ullah with 35000 pieces of Yaba in a polythene bag from the area.

A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act. He will be produced before the court this afternoon.
