Rohingya leader Muhibullah murder: Lawsuit registered

A murder case has been lodged in connection with the murder of Muhibullah, a top Rohingya leader in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar.

Muhibullah’s brother Habibullah filed the case with Ukhiya Police Station on Thursday night (September 30).

Unidentified persons have been made accused in the case, according to the case details. However, no specific information was immediately available on the number of accused.

Confirming the matter, Ukhiya Police Station OC Sanjur Morshed said a case has been registered. The next step in this regard is being taken under the existing law.

14 APBN Commander SP Naimul Haque said the law enforcement agencies are continuing their efforts to unravel the mystery of the murder of the Rohingya leader Muhibullah and bring those involved under the law. 

Muhibullah, one of the top leaders of the Rohingya, was shot dead in the office of his organization at Ukhiya’s Lambasia (Camp-1) camp around 8:30 pm on Wednesday (September 29).

After an autopsy at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, Muhibullah’s Namaz-e-Janaza was held in the presence of lakhs of people at Lambasia Rohingya Camp-1 East in Ukhiya on Thursday afternoon. He was later laid to rest at a cemetery near his home in Lambasia.
