Robber shot in Pabna gunfight

A robber was shot in a gunfight with police in Pabna’s Ishwardi.
The incident took place at Chanmari intersection of Sara union of the Upazila on Monday night.
The injured robber identified as Abdullah Al Mamun alias Abdullah, 35, son of Jahangir Alam of Aronkola Camp Mahalla in Ishwardi municipal area.
Ishwardi Police Station OC Bahauddin Faruqi said, “On information of some robber were preparing for robbery in the area, the police conducted a drive. Sensing the presence of police, the robbers started shooting. When police counter fire, they escaped.”
“Later, police recovered the injured Mamun and admitted him to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex and later taken to Pabna Medical College Hospital for better treatment,” the OC added.
There are 11 cases filed against Mamun for arms, murder and drug control laws. After finishing treatment, another case of arms law will be filed and sent him to jail.
A local shorter gun and two rounds of bullets were recovered from the spot.
