Robber lynched in Ishwardi

A robber was killed in a lynch-mob attack on Friday night at Potirajpur Old Mosque area of Mulduli in Ishwardi, Pabna.

Ishwardi Police Station OC Bahauddin Faruqi said on Saturday night that a gang of robbers tried to rob a house in the old mosque by identifying themselves as DB.  

“When the robbers attempted to enter another house owned by Hafez Tajul Islam at the village, the house inmates started to scream,” he said. 

“Hearing screams, locals rushed in and chased the robbers and caught one of them. The angry mob gave him good a good thrashing, leaving dead on the spot,” he added.  

“On information, the police recovered the body and brought it to the police station. A case will be filed in the incident. The body will be sent to Pabna General Hospital for autopsy,” OC Bahauddin said. 

The identity of the deceased is yet to be known. Three injured people were admitted to the Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex.
