The High Court on Tuesday has dismissed the petition filed by Ayesha Siddika Minni, wife of Barguna’s Rifat Sharif who was killed in broad daylight on June 26 last year in Barguna town — challenging the legality of charges framing in the Rifat Sharif murder case and mentioning her petition was not presented before the court.

The High Court bench headed by Justice AKM Asaduzzaman passed the order.

Senior lawyers ZI Khan Panna and Advocate Jamiul Haque Faisal heard the case for Minni.

On January 1, the court framed charges against the 10 accused, including wife Ayesha Siddika Minni, who was charged earlier in the Rifat Sharif murder case.

Barguna District and Sessions Judge Court Judge Md Asaduzzaman framed the charge. Minni later appealed with the High Court challenging the order of framing in the complaint.

The miscreants hacked Rifat Sharif in front of Barguna Government College gate on June 26 last year. He was taken to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College in Barishal and died there.

Minni is currently under bail as per the High Court order.
