Rifat murder: 8 accused in court, verdict anytime

8 adult accused have been taken to the District Judge’s Court from jail
The verdict of 10 adults accused in the murder case of Rifat Sharif in Barguna will be announced today. For this, eight accused have been taken to the District Judge’s Court from jail. They were produced before the court at 11:40 am on Wednesday.
They are – Rakibul Hasan Rifat Faraji, Al Qayyum alias Rabbi Akon, Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, Rezwan Ali Khan Hridoy alias TikTok Hridoy, Md. Hasan, Rafiul Islam Rabbi, Md. Sagar and Kamrul Islam Saimun.
Earlier, Ayesha Siddika Minni, who was on bail, came to the court with her father in the morning. Besides, another accused named Md. Musa is still absconding
On June 26, 2019, in front of Barguna Government College, Nayan Bond and his accomplices publicly hacked Rifat Sharif with machetes in broad daylight and seriously injured him. The injured Rifat later died at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
On September 1, police filed a chargesheet against 24 people, including Rifat’s wife Minni, in the Rifat Sharif murder case in the Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court. At the same time, the number one accused in the Rifat murder case, Nayan Bond, was killed in a gunfight, so he was acquitted.
On January 1, the Barguna District and Sessions Judge’s Court framed charges against 10 adults accused in the Rifat murder case. On the other hand, on January 8, the Barguna Children’s Court framed charges against 14 juveniles accused in the Rifat murder case.
