Rifat Murder case: Hearing on charge Nov 28

A Barguna court has fixed the date for the hearing of the charges against the adult accused in the Rifat murder case. The court also rejected the bail application of the three accused. Barguna District and Sessions Judge Court judge Md. Ashduzzaman issued this order at around 11 am on Wednesday.

On September 1, police filed two separate, adult and minor charges accusing 24 people including Rifat Sharif's wife Ayesha Siddiqua. One of the accused in the case Musa is still fugitive and Ayesha Siddiqua is out on bail while the rest of the accused are in jail. On November 6, the charge sheet of the Rifat murder case was sent from the lower court to the District and Sessions Judge Court.

The lawyer of the plaintiff, Mojibul Haque, said that the eight adults accused in the Rifat murder case were produced before the Barguna District Jail today. Besides, the accused, Ayesha Siddiqua, appeared in court.

Rifat Sharif was killed by terrorists in front of Barguna Government College on the morning of June 26. Later, multiple videos of the murder spread. There, wife Aisha Siddiqua is seen trying to save her husband Rifat. In this case, Rifat's father Abdul Halim Sharif filed a lawsuit with the names of 12 people. Ayesha was made the main witness in the case. But Aisha's father-in-law claims that Aisha was involved in the murder 18 days later.

Later, Police arrested Aisha Siddiqua on July 16. The next day, the police produced her in court and applied for remand and landed her in jail after frequent remand. Later, she got bail from the high court.
