The jail term actress Rhea Chakraborty, ‘girlfriend’ of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has been extended till October 6, a court in Mumbai said on Tuesday as her judicial custody ended. In the meantime, she and her brother Showik Chakraborty appealed for her bail from the Bombay High Court, as a result, the hearing will be held tomorrow; i.e., Wednesday.
The 28-year-old actress was arrested on September 9 on drug charges linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput death investigation. She was also been accused of organizing drugs for him. On the other hand, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) described Rhea as an “active member of a drug syndicate”.
Based on her three-day questioning earlier this month, the anti-drugs agency has widened its investigations to Bollywood’s drug links.
Right now, Rhea and her brother Showik does not want to release from custody right now, as a result, they appealed for the extension of their imprisonment.
Rhea Chakraborty was remanded in custody for 14 days. The NCB had filed a fresh petition in the court on Tuesday after that period expired. Now, the court granted another 14-days of custody.
