Mayor Sayeed Khokon said, “Within 48 hours, all the posters, festoons banners will be removed - so we seek help from the candidate-workers.”
The first operation was conducted in Suritola Government Primary School area.
After visiting the capital’s various area, it is found that poster and banner are still spread or hanging from lane to over bridge, the electricity pole, the wall of the houses.
In such cases, it is seen in Farmgate, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, New Market, Shahbagh, Paltan, Gulistan, Motijheel, Khilkhhet, Malibagh, Rampura, Sadarghat, Sayedabad, Jatrabari, Uttara areas. Removals of poster-banners are seen in these areas.
Millatul Islam, Additional Waste Management Officer of Dhaka South City Corporation, said, “We are removing billboards, banners, and festoons every day.”
“However, the poster-banner that was set up in the capital on the occasion of the election has begun to remove in 57 different areas of the Dhaka South City,” he added.
