Regional cooperation crucial to develop tourism industry

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali met Indian High Commissioner Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy at the Secretariat on Thursday
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali said, "It is necessary to establish a field of regional cooperation for the development of the tourism industry after Covid-19 pandemic."
He made the remarks when he met with Indian High Commissioner Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy at the Secretariat on Thursday.
The minister said, "Tourism industry in this region will be able to overcome the catastrophe caused by Covid-19 through the mutual travel of the people of the neighboring friendly countries. Mutual cooperation in the tourism and aviation sectors will help to achieve our goals."
Mentioning the strong friendship between Bangladesh and India, the state minister said, "The people of Bangladesh have always remembered the contribution of the Indian people in the great war of liberation with gratitude. The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working further to develop relations between the people of the two friendly states."
He said that re-opening of the air communication by air bubble management would re-establish the communication system between the two countries.
He assured that this will make the travel of the people of the two countries easier and more comfortable.
Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy said that Indian Airlines has been affected due to Covid-19 with all over the world. For this, he requested to reduce all the general charges of Indian airlines using Bangladeshi airports.
The Indian High Commissioner also said, "The relations between Bangladesh and India are based on strong foundations. Day by day this relationship is getting stronger. Strong relations will play a role in the welfare of the people of the two countries."
