Re-burial of Raihan, 3-member medical board for autopsy

A three-member medical board has been formed on Thursday afternoon to re-examine the body of Raihan Uddin Ahmed, who was tortured to dead at the Bandarbazar police outpost in Sylhet.
The members of the Medical Board are: Shamsul Islam, Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Forensics, Lecturer Debesh Poddar and Lecturer Abdullah Al Helal of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Earlier, Raihan's body was exhumed from the grave for autopsy four days later at around 10:45 am on Thursday. The body was taken to the morgue of Osmani Medical College Hospital. After the second autopsy, the body was re-buried at around 4.30 pm.
Shamsul Islam, head of the medical board, said the medical board had to be formed for re-autopsy as part of the legal process. For this, a three-member medical board has been formed by informing the principal of the medical college. The ‘preliminary’ report of the previous autopsy was handed over to the PBI on Thursday morning. Some chemical samples have been sent to the laboratory in Chattogram. When the results come out, the autopsy report will be made again.
