Razakar Sattar gets death penalty

The International Crimes Tribunal on Wednesday sentenced death penalty to Abdus Sattar alias Tipu Sultan of Boalia, Rajshahi to death over crimes against humanity case.  

The three-member bench led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam passed the verdict. 

Earlier, the tribunal had stayed the case (CAV) waiting for the verdict after the arguments of the two sides on October 17 in the presence of accused Tipu Sultan. The tribunal fixed the day for the verdict on Wednesday.

Prosecutor Md Mokhlesur Rahman Badal, Zahid Imam and Sabina Yasmin Khan Munni was heard in favor of the prosecution in the tribunal while Lawyer Ghazi MH Tamim was present for the defendant. 

Noted that during the War of Liberation two charges were made against him for killing 10 people in Rajshahi’s Boalia, torturing two people for a long time, looting goods from 12 to 13 houses.
