Rajshahi posts fighting target of 170 to Dhaka

Minister Group Rajshahi scored a fighting score with the help of stormy fifty of Mahedi Hasan and gave a target of 170 runs to Beximco Dhaka in the opening match of Bangabandhu T20 Cup.
Batting first, Rajshahi scored 169 runs with 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
The match started at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at 1.30 pm. Earlier, Dhaka captain Mushfiqur Rahim decided to field after winning the toss. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Anisul Islam Emon opened the innings for Rajshahi. Both of them gave a very stormy start for the team.
The opening pair scored 31 runs after Shanto returned to the pavilion - Shanto scored 17 runs. After that Rajshahi was ruined in the procession of batsmen coming and going. Rony Talukdar, Ashraful, Fazle Mahmud, none of them could last long.
Rony made 6 runs before returning to the dressing room. Although there were many dreams surrounding Ashraful in the Bangabandhu T20 tournament, he could not score more than 5 runs. On the other hand, Fazle Mahmud was run out before opening the run score.
Nurul Hasan Sohan and Mahedi Hasan took the helm of Rajshahi after losing five wickets for just 65 runs. They returned to the match with a pair of 89 runs. Although Sohan returned with 39, Mahedi left the field with fifty. At the end of the innings, the Rajshahi camp collapsed again.
Muktar Ali took three wickets for Dhaka alone. Besides, Mehedi Hasan Rana, Nasum Ahmed and Nayeem Hasan took one wicket each.
