Two newly received ATVs
BGB Battalion-1 has received all-terrain vehicle (ATV) to travel on inaccessible roads in the border area of Rajshahi. Meanwhile, four ATVs have reached the Rajshahi border. These motor vehicles will play an effective role in border security and crime control. The three-seater AVT can travel 30 kilometers per hour capable of crossing mud, sand and even high and low paths.
BGB Battalion-1 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ferdous Ziauddin Mahmud confirmed the information.
He said two ATVs have been provided at Khanpur border outpost in Rajshahi and two at Padmachar border outpost. BGB will play a more important role in preventing drugs and other smuggled goods through regular patrols through these ATVs.
Lt Colonel Ferdous said ATV has been added to Rajshahi BGB as part of the modernization master plan. ATV can be reached quickly in areas of the border where it takes time to walk and the roads are impassable. ATVs will be used to quickly reach the border from the border outpost in any situation, including flag meetings or anti-smuggling operations.
