Rainfall to decrease; Day temp likely fall by (1-2)°C

Rain or thundershowers activity may decrease in the next 72 hours or within three days while the day temperature may fall by (1-2)°C and night temperature may fall slightly over the country in the next 24 hours ending tomorrow at 9:00 am.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said this in a weather bulletin issued on Wednesday (26 May 2021).
The weather bulletin said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and at many places over Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country.
The mild heat wave sweeping over Sylhet division and the regions of Pabna, Kurigram, Kishoregonj and Feni is likely to abate.
According to the Meteorological Department, the severe cyclonic storm Yaas over East-central Bay and adjoining area that moved towards North-Northwest was intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm. Till the morning, the storm lied over Northwest Bay off North Odisha-West Bengal coast.
“It is likely to move towards North-Northwest further and may cross North Odisha-West Bengal coast between North of Dhamra & South of Balasore by Noon today,” the Met Office’s weather bulletin informed.
The country’s highest temperature recorded 37.4°C yesterday at Sylhet district while today’s minimum temperature recorded 24.2°C at Nikli in Dhaka’s Kishoreganj district.
Today’s sunset will be at 6:40 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:12 am.
