Rainfall activity may increase in the next 72 hours, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in a weather bulletin issued on Friday.

Accroding to BMD weather forecast, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country in the next 24 hours ending on Saturday around 9:00 am.

Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period.

Meanwhile, a monsoon trough lies over Bihar to Assam across West Bengal and the central part of Bangladesh and another trough of low lies over North Bay. As a result, the monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay.

The country’s maximum temperature recorded 36.5 degree Celsius yesterday at Tarash upazila of Rajshahi division while today’s minimum temperature recorded 22.6 degree Celsius at Tetulia of Rangpur division.

Today’s sunset will be at 5:31 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:57 am.
