Rainfall likely at one-two places over country; Heatwave to abate

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporarily gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over the country in the next 24 hours ending tomorrow at 9:00 am, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a weather bulletin issued on Friday.
According to the BMD weather forecast, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporarily gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Kushtia and Jashore.
Besides, the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country during the period.
“Rain or thundershowers is likely to increase in the next 72 hours,” added the bulletin.
Day temperature “may fall slightly” and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country in the next 24 hours, said the BMD weather forecast.
The mild to moderate heatwave that is sweeping over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Khulna, and Barishal divisions and the regions of Sitakunda, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Rajshahi, and Pabna may abate.
Meanwhile, a trough of low has lied over West Bengal and adjoining areas.
The country’s maximum temperature recorded 38.8°C yesterday at Jashore of Khulna division while today’s minimum temperature recorded 21.0°C at Chuadanga district.
Today’s sunset will be at 6;27 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:24 am.
