Rainfall activity to increase in 72hrs

Rainfall activity is likely to increase in the next 72 hours, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in a weather bulletin issued today.
The BMD’s weather forecast says light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi & Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.
The day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin added.
“Southwest monsoon has set on over the country,” said the Met Office, forecasting that a low has formed over Northwest Bay and adjoining coastal area. As a result, the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
The country’s maximum temperature recorded 36.5°C yesterday at Rajshahi district while today’s minimum temperature recorded 24.0°C at Kumarkhali in Khulna division.
Besides, the highest rainfall in the 24 hours recorded 76mm at Netrokona in the Mymensingh division.
Today’s sunset will be at 6:45 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:10 am.
