The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted that the country’s rainfall activity may increase in the next 72 hours or within three days.  Besides, the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country in the next 24 hours ending tomorrow at 9 am.

The country’s Met Office said the conditions are becoming favorable for the withdrawal of the South-west monsoon from the remaining parts of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said this in a weather bulletin signed by deputy director Meteorologist Md. Bazlur Rashid on Friday.

According to the Met Office, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over  Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.

Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period, the weather bulletin added.

Meanwhile, the low over East-central Bay adjoining area is currently lying over North West Bay and adjoining West-central Bay. It is likely to move in a west-northwesterly direction. The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the northern part of Bangladesh. As a result, the monsoon is less active elsewhere over the country and weak over North Bay.

The country’s maximum temperature was recorded at 37.2°C yesterday at Sylhet district while today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 24.4°C at Tangail in Dhaka district.

Today’s sunset will be at 5:32 pm and Tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:57 am.
