Rainfall activity likely to increase

Rainfall activity in the country may increase in the next 72 hours or three days, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
In a weather bulletin issued on Saturday, the country’s Met Office said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions
Besides, moderately heavy to heavy rainfall is likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions during the period.
Day and night temperature, during the period, may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Meanwhile, the axis of the monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs has been extended up to North Bay, as a result, the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderates over North Bay.
The country’s highest temperature recorded 35.2°C yesterday at Ishurdi of Rajshahi division while today’s minimum temperature recorded 24.6°C at Tetulia in Rangpur division.
Besides, the country’s highest rainfall in the 24 hours recorded 70mm at Tetulia district.
Today’s sunset will be at 6:50 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:13 am.
