Rain with squally wind likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted that many parts of the country may experience rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty or squally wind in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions; at a few places over Barishal, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Chattogram division,” said a met office bulletin issued this morning.

As an extended outlook for the next 72 hours, the bulletin predicted that weather may improve at the end period.

However, night temperature may remain nearly unchanged and day temperature may fall slightly over the country.

The highest temperature on Monday was recorded 31.2 degrees Celsius in Rangamati under Chattogram division while today’s minimum temperature was 13.8 degrees Celsius in Tetulia under Rangpur division.

The sunsets at 5:59 pm today and rises at 6:24 am tomorrow in the capital.
