Rain or thundershowers likely over country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecasted rain or thundershowers with the gusty wind at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am tomorrow.
"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," said a Met Office release issued this morning.
However, the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Meanwhile, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the release said.
The deep depression over the West-central Bay and adjoining area crossed north Andhra coast of India, weakened into a depression and now lies over Telangana of India. It is likely to move further west northwestwards and weaken gradually.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature was recorded yesterday by 36.5 degree Celsius at Rangamati and the lowest temperature today was recorded by 22.5 degree Celsius at Tetulia. The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded by 42 millimetres (mm) at Khumarkhali.
