Rain likely to increase

As an outlook for the next 72 hours or three days, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Wednesday predicted: "Rain or thunder showers activity may increase."
The Met Office also forecasted rain or thunder showers with moderately heavy falls and hails at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls and hails at isolated places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.
Meanwhile, day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said the bulletin.
The country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 34.1 degree Celsius at Cox’s Bazar and today’s minimum temperature 20.8 degree Celsius was recorded jointly at Tangail and Badalgachi Upazila in Naogaon district.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 73 millimeters (mm) at Mongla in Khulna district.
The sun sets at 06:33 pm today and rises at 05:17 am tomorrow in the capital.
