Rain likely to increase, signal 3 for maritime ports

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur over the country in the next 24 hours ending on Wednesday at around 9:00 am, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a weather forecast issued on Tuesday.
According to BMD weather forecast, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka & Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions.
Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period.
Meanwhile, a trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas. Steep pressure gradient lies over North Bay. As a result, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Magla and Payra seaports have been advised to hoist cautionary signal no. 3.
The country’s highest temperature recorded 34.8 degree Celsius at Rajshahi district on Monday while Tuesday’s minimum temperature recorded 21.0 degree Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur divisions.
