Rain likely to increase in next 72hrs

As an outlook for the next 72 hours, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday predicted, "Rain or thunder showers activity may increase".
The Met Office also forecasted that many places of the country may experience light to moderate rain or thunder showers with the temporary gusty wind in the next 24 hours commencing 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions; at a few places over Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the southern part of the country," said a met office release issued this morning.
Besides, day and night temperatures may rise by 1-2 degrees Celcius over the country during the period.
Country's maximum temperature was recorded yesterday at 32.6 degrees Celsius at Srimangal in Sylhet and the minimum temperature today 24.3 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda in Chattogram division. Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 88 millimeters (mm) in Jashore under the Khulna division.
The sunsets at 6:26 pm today and rises at 5:37 am tomorrow in the capital.
