Rain likely to increase in next 72hrs, temp may fall further

As an outlook for the next 72 hours, Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday predicted: "Rain or thunder showers activity may increase and temperature may fall further."
The Met Office also forecasted rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty or squally wind at some places in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal
& Chattogram divisions," BMD said in a bulletin issued this morning.
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is sweeping over the Khulna division and the regions of Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalgonj, Rangamati, Noakhali and Feni and it may abate from some places, the release said.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country during the period, it added.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded yesterday at 37.8 degrees Celsius at Jashore under the Khulna division and the minimum temperature today was recorded at 18.7 degrees Celsius at Tetulia under the Rangpur division.
The sun sets at 6:28 pm today and rises at 5:24 am tomorrow in the capital.
