Rain likely to increase in next 72 hrs

As an outlook for the next 72 hours, Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted that rainfall activity is likely to increase over the country.
The Met Office also forecasted that as monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay, most of the places in the country are likely to experience rain or thundershower in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning.
Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period.
Maximum temperature of the country was recorded by 34.6 degree Celsius yesterday at Sayedpur in Rangpur while the lowest one was recorded today by 22.0 degree Celsius jointly at Teknaf in Chattogram division. Country’s maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded by 161 millimetres (mm) at Cox’s Bazar in Chattogram.
The sun sets at 6:50 pm today and rises at 5:17 am tomorrow in the capital.
