Rain likely to continue for 72 hours

As an outlook for the next 72 hours, Bangladesh Meteorology Department (BMD) on Monday predicted: "Rainfall activity may continue."
The Met Office also forecasted that many places of the country are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershower in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning.
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Tangail, Kishoreganj, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Bogura, Sirajgonj, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Sayedpur and it may abate from some places during the period.
Besides, day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
The maximum temperature of the country was recorded 37.3 degrees Celcius at Dinajpur while today's minimum temperature was 24.0 degrees Celcius at Tetulia under Rangpur division.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong elsewhere over North Bay. The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 68 millimeters (mm) at Gopalgonj.
The sun sets at 5:56 pm today and rises at 5:48 am tomorrow in the capital.
