Rain likely, temperature may fall

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Wednesday predicted that day temperature may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. 

The Met Office also forecasted that many places in six districts of the country may experience rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today. 

"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions... The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning. 

Meanwhile, a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions over the regions of Rangamati and Sayedpur and it may continue at some places till tomorrow morning.

The maximum temperature was recorded yesterday 39.2 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga under Khulna division, while today’s minimum temperature was 19.0 degrees Celsius in Dimla and Sayedpur under Rangpur division.

The sun sets at 6:17 pm today and rises at 5:43 am tomorrow in the capital.
