Rain likely in country’s 8 regions, warning signal for riverports

Rain or thundershowers is likely to occur in eight regions over the country in the next few hours till 1:00 pm from 5:00 am today.
The river ports in these regions have been asked to hoist the cautionary signal number one, the met office said in a warning message early on Thursday morning.
According to the release, “In association with rain or thundershowers temporary South or SouthEasterly squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Faridpur, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar wherein river ports shall hoist riverine warning signal number one till 1 pm today.”
Meanwhile, the Met Office also predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers with wind speed 8-12 kph is likely to occur in Dhaka and its adjoining areas in the next six hours commencing 7:00 am today. Besides, the temperature may remain unchanged over the area during the period.
