Rain likely, day temp may fall by (1-3)°C

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Thursday predicted that rain with gusty wind is likely to occur and day temperature may fall by (1-3)° Celsius at many places over the country in next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram, Barishal & Sylhet divisions and at a few over Khulna division,” said a Met Office release issued this morning.
Besides, a mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Pabna & Madaripur and it may abate, said the release adding that day temperature may fall by (1-3)° Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period.
Meanwhile, rainfall activity likely to continue, said the Met Office, in its outlook for the subsequent 72 hours.
The country's maximum temperature was recorded yesterday 37.8 degrees Celsius in Khulna and today’s minimum temperature 20.8 degrees Celsius at Dimla under Rangpur division.
The sun sets at 6:38 pm today and rises at 5:12 am tomorrow in the capital.
