Rain likely at many places

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted that rain or thundershowers may occur in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions and the regions of Jashore and Kushtia,” said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

As an extended outlook for the next 72 hours, the bulletin predicted that rain or thundershowers activity is likely to continue

The weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, ‍said the bulletin, adding that light fog may occur at some places over the country during early morning tomorrow. 

However, night temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country while day temperature may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna and Dhaka divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. 

The highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 32.5 degrees Celsius in both Chandpur in Chattogram and Patuakhali in Barishal, while today’s minimum temperature was 13.8 degrees Celsius in Tetulia in Rangpur divisions. 

The sun sets at 5:59 pm today and rises at 6:25 am tomorrow in the capital.
