Rail communication with Khulna suspended
The rail communication with Khulna to other parts of the country remained suspended as two bogies of the Khulna-bound Sundarbans Express train derailed at Kotchandpur in Jhenaidah.
The incident happened on Monday afternoon.
Kotchandpur station master Golam Mostafa said the two back bogies suddenly derailed when the Sundarbans Express reached Kotchandpur station around 5:30 pm. However, no casualties were reported.
He said that the rescue operation will begin after the rescue train come from Ishwardi in Pabna. The matter has been reported to the higher authorities.
