The Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has remanded Constable Titu Chandra Das, who was arrested in connection with the death of Raihan Ahmed at the Bandarbazar police outpost in Sylhet, for another three days.

Police produced Titu Chandra Das in the court of Sylhet Senior Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman after a five-day remand on Sunday afternoon. At that time, the investigation agency asked for another five-day remand. Then the court granted a three-day remand after the hearing.

PBI inspector Mahidul Islam, the investigating officer in the case confirmed the matter to media.

Meanwhile, the PBI arrested Harun Ur Rashid on Saturday in the Raihan murder case and remanded him for five days. However, the main accused in the case, Bandarbazar outpost in-charge SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, is still absconding.

Raihan Ahmed, a resident of Akhalia area of Sylhet city, was brought to Bandarbazar police outpost on the morning of October 11 and tortured. He later died at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. Five people, including SI Akbar and Hasan Uddin of Bandar Bazar outpost, were suspended and three others were withdrawn in connection with Raihan's murder. Tahmina Akhter Tanni, wife of the deceased, filed a murder case with Kotwali Police Station on October 12.
