Radical changes coming in police training: Benazir

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed today said in order to build a suitable police force like in developed countries there is bringing on radical changes in the training of police.
He made the remarks while presiding over a meeting of heads of police training institutions (heads of training) at the conference room of Bangladesh-India Friendship Building at Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA) in Rajshahi's Sardah on Wednesday afternoon.
Dr. Benazir said, "The syllabus of basic training of the police has been reviewed and new syllabus prepared as per the responsibilities and requirements of different posts. The training curriculum is being arranged in line with the real needs."
He said that the Prime Minister has directed every police officer and force from constables to additional IGs to undergo at least 60 hours of training a year to ensure better service to the people. These are being modernized to enhance the capacity of all police training institutes to implement that goal.
