RMG workers leave in keeping with Eid holiday: HM

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said that the readymade garment (RMG) workers will be given leave on Eid in keeping with the public holiday.
He said this after a meeting on the overall law and order situation in the garment industry on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha at the conference room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat in the capital.
Home Minister said, “Ministry of Labour and Employment will decide on the workers’ salaries, allowances for the current month of July. The Qurbani Eid holiday will last for three days, this will not increase. Again, no government official-employee can leave the workplace during the holidays.”
The garment workers have already been paid for the wages of June. The Ministry of Labour informed about the decision after a meeting with BGMEA on salaries and allowances and bonuses for July, he added.
