RMCH’s Corona unit logs 17 more fatalities

In the last 24 hours, 17 more people died of Covid-19 and symptoms in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH). Among these, 5 died of Covid-19 and 12 died with symptoms.
Among the deceased, 4 are from Rajshahi, 5 from Pabna, 3 from Natore, 2 from Kushtia, and one each from Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, and Bogura. With this, a total of 872 people succumbed to the Covid-19 and symptoms on the 59th day in RMCH.
RMCH director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani said they died in different wards of RMCH hospital from Wednesday 8 am to Thursday 8 am.
He added 429 people were undergoing COVID sample test at two labs in RMCH in the last 24 hours, yielding the virus positivity among 124 people with a detection rate of 28.90%.
Besides, the number of patients is increasing even after increasing the number of wards and beds in phases at Rajshahi Medical. The Corona unit has 513 beds with 20 ICUs, of which 415 are patients and 52 have been admitted in the last 24 hours.
