RMCH counts another 4 fatalities

Four more people have died of Covid-19 and symptoms in the last 24 hours at the COVID unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) – among these are three women and a man. Besides, 10 people were detected with the virus during the period.
Confirming the matter, RMCH Director Brigadier General Dr. Shamim Yazdani told the media that they succumbed to the disease and symptoms from 8 am on Friday till 8 am on Saturday.
“In the last 24 hours, one from Naogaon died of Covid-19, one each from Rajshahi and Naogaon died with symptoms and another died after being tested COVID negative,” RMCH Director said.
He added that 22 people were newly hospitalized at the 512-bed RMCH COVID Isolation Unit till 8:00 am on Saturday, bringing the overall patients in the hospital to 85. Besides, two people returned home after recovery.
Earlier on Friday, 245 samples were collected from two PCR labs at RMCH and Rajshahi Medical College – 10 people were tested positive for the Covid-19 with a detection rate of 1.97 percent.
