RMCH counts another 18 fatalities at Corona unit

Another 18 people died in the last 24 hours at the Corona unit of the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH). They succumbed to the Covid-19 and its symptoms while undergoing treatment at the hospital from Tuesday 9 am to Wednesday 9 am.
Among the new 18 deaths, 6 of them died of Covid-19 and 12 died with symptoms. 6 of them are from Rajshahi, 3 from Natore, 7 from Pabna and one each from Kushtia and Meharpur, said Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, director of RMCH.
The RMCH director further said a maximum of six people died during the period in ward no. 1 of the hospital. Besides, 5 people died in ICU, two each in wards 3 and 17 and one each in wards 14, 15 and 16.
A total of 403 people, including 193 from Rajshahi, 31 from Chapainawabganj, 63 from Natore, 49 from Naogaon, 54 from Pabna, 10 from Kushtia and one from Joypurhat, Sirajganj and Brahmanbaria, were admitted to the 513-bed RMCH hospital till Wednesday 9 am.
Among them, 183 were admitted with Covid-19 and 177 were admitted with symptoms, said RMCH director, adding that 20 people were admitted to the 20-bed ICU.
Besides, 50 people were admitted to the Rajshahi medical in the span of 24 hours. In the same period, 39 people left the hospital after recovery.
