RMCH counts 5 more deaths, COVID detection rate 5.5pc

Five people including four women died of Covid-19 and symptoms in the last 24 hours at the COVID unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) from Thursday 8 am to Friday 8 am. Besides, 22 COVID cases were reported during the period.
RMCH Director Brigadier General Dr. Shamim Yazdani said two died of COVID from Rajshahi and one died with symptoms in Rajshahi, one in Natore and one in Naogaon in the last 24 hours.
He added that 122 patients were admitted in the 513-bed RMCH COVID Isolation Unit till 8 am on Friday. 14 people were newly admitted in a day and 18 returned home after recovery.
Earlier on Thursday, as many as 400 samples were tested at two PCR labs of RMCH and Rajshahi Medical College, yielding the virus positivity among 22 people with a detection rate of 5.5 percent.
