RMCH COVID unit sees lowest daily death toll in 81 days

A number of six people died at the Covid-19 unit of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) afresh during the last 24 hours till 6:00 am on Thursday, which is the lowest daily death toll in the unit in 81 days.
Confirming the information, RMCH Director Brigadier General Dr Shamim Yazdani told reporters that among the deaths, four tested positive for Covid-19, one had the virus symptoms while another had post-Covid-19 complexities.
One each of the deceased were the residents of Rajshahi and Naogaon and two each from Chapainawabganj and Natore districts, he said.
A number of 14 more patients were admitted to the designated Covid wards of the hospital during the time, raising the total patients to 209 against 513 beds. Twenty-nine other patients returned home from the Covid-19 unit after being cured during the same time.
A total of 93 people have been detected positive for Covid-19 after testing 699 samples in Rajshahi's two laboratories yesterday.
