RMCH COVID unit logs 14 more deaths

As many as 14 more deaths have been registered at the COVID unit of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
Among the deaths, four tested positive for Covid-19, eight displayed symptoms consistent with the disease while two COVID patients died after testing negative.
RMCH director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani confirmed the information this morning (August 4, 2021).
"From 8:00 am on Monday to 8:00 am on Tuesday, the people - including eight women - died in different wards of RMCH. Of them, four each were from Rajshahi and Natore, three from Naogaon, and one each from Pabna, Kushtia and Chuadanga" he said.
Meanwhile, 48 people have been admitted to RMCH in the last 24 hours while 30 others returned home after recovery. With the new patients, a total of 440 patients are now undergoing treatment in the 513-bed corona unit of the Hospital as of this morning.
In the last 24 hours, 113 covid patients have been detected after testing 476 samples in two labs of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.
